Boroughwide Public Space Protection Order - Consultation for Car Meets
Consultation has concluded
Public Space Protection Order - Car Meets
The London Borough of Waltham Forest has seen significant nuisance and anti-social behaviour (ASB) related to motor vehicles participating in organised car meets; groups of car and motorcycle owners congregating, by either participating or spectating, within a specific and designated location for the purpose detailed below.
Car meets are well organised, well attended and tend to be focused within particular hotspot locations causing the local residents significant alarm and distress.
After internal research and discussion the council believes in the need for a Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) to restrict associated behaviour including the congregation aspect of the meets which is not currently an offence, although remains a major contributing factor to the overall disruption being caused.
You can find more details on the proposed PSPO in the document on the right hand of this page.
Have your say
Before making any decisions we are asking for your views on:
the extent to which you think car meets are a problem
how they effect you
whether you agree or disagree that a PSPO should be introduced
any other thoughts you have
Please take some time to read about the proposals using the links provided above and the documents on the right hand side of this page.
When you are ready please take the survey below to let us know your opinions.
This consultation will stay open until the 24th of April 2024.
