FAQs
Why are you asking residents for feedback on the Dunedin area?
Waltham Forest Council has secured funding as part of the Coronation Square/ Score Centre redevelopment to make improvements to this area that will better connect the development to the local community, Leyton Station and existing amenities on High Road Leyton.
Our aim is to make it easier and safer for local people to get around by active and sustainable modes of travel such as public transport, walking, cycling and wheeling, while also improving the look and feel of the area, and making the area greener and healthier.
In the past, we have also received some concerns from the local community about the speed and volume of traffic using Lyttleton Road, York Road, Dunedin Road and Adelaide Road. Therefore, we’d like to hear from people living within this area to understand if there are any traffic and road safety issues that need to be addressed, as well as if there are any other improvements local people would like to see to improve the look and feel of the area and help people move around safer and more easily.
What is planned for the area?
Nothing is planned for the area yet. We will use the feedback gathered during the early engagement period to create designs. As we have secured the funding from the development, we will be making some improvements, but before we design plans, we want a steer from local people as to what they would like to see on their streets.
What streets are you asking for feedback on?
We are asking for feedback about Lyttleton Road, York Road, Dunedin Road and Adelaide Road. However, if you have something to add about a nearby street, please add it to the map and we will take your comment on board and pass it to the relevant team.
How are the improvements being funded?

What engagement are you doing?
As part of early engagement, we are running a perception survey to gather people’s thoughts on the area. It will be advertised through social media, on-street posters and council newsletters, and we have organised a pop-up in Coronation Gardens from 11am to 2pm to encourage people to complete the survey. We are also writing to key stakeholders like community groups, schools and places of worship.
Once plans are developed, there will be a second engagement period so residents can help us to refine the designs.
How can local people get involved with the scheme?
Local people can fill in the survey online. If you would prefer to fill in a hardcopy survey, you can collect one from Leyton Library, High Road, E10 5QH.
What happens after the perception survey closes?
When the survey has ended, we’ll look at all the responses received, and develop a plan based on improvements that have been suggested. Once we have developed an initial design we will invite local people to take part in a public consultation on the plans later in the year.
We’ll aim to write to residents with more information on the results of the perception survey and the next steps by the autumn.
More information and regular updates on the scheme can also be found on our website.
How can I keep informed about any updates?
Updates will be posted on our website.
We will also write to residents with the results of the perception survey and next steps by the Autumn.
