Waltham Forest currently commissions “Flourish” who are part of the Whitefield Academy Trust to deliver SEND outreach and support for children/young people in mainstream schools including early years settings.
As part of the commissioning review, we would like to receive feedback from all local schools regarding the impact Flourish are having on inclusive practice and outcomes for children/young people with SEND.
We have developed two short surveys to capture key information relating to the services provided by Flourish, which are:
SEND Outreach and Support
Hearing Impairment (HI), Visual Impairment (VI) and Mobility Outreach and Support
The Local SEND Area Partnership’s strategic intent for children and young people with SEND is to ensure that the right support is provided in the right place and at the right time. Flourish have agreed to align their practice to Waltham Forest’s vision, as follows:
“The service will provide high quality, local, inclusive nursery and education provision which supports independence and achieving the best possible outcomes”.
We would strongly encourage all schools and nurseries to participate in this survey (even if there has not been any involvement with Flourish). All contributions will provide us with vital information in developing our SEND services going forwards.
We would kindly request schools to complete the first of the two surveys regarding SEND Outreach and Support by Friday 6 June 2025.
On completion, we will provide the second survey relating to the Hearing/Visual Impairment and Mobility Outreach service.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank our colleagues across education in advance for their continued efforts in supporting children/young people with complex needs at these very challenging times.
We look forward to working together in partnership on our continued journey to making Waltham Forest a place where children/young people thrive in education and lead happy and fulfilled lives.
