Housing Service: Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) Policy

Thank you for your feedback, the consultation for this policy has now closed.

Overview
This consultation is for Waltham Forest residents, particularly those living in social housing or council-managed properties. We are seeking your feedback on the proposed Housing Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) Policy, which aims to ensure that housing related ASB in the borough is effectively addressed to protect residents’ safety and wellbeing.

The Housing ASB Policy outlines:

  • How we define ASB and the approach we will take as a housing service in response to it.
  • What steps we take to prevent and reduce ASB.

What is Anti-Social Behaviour?
Anti-social behaviour is any conduct that causes harassment, alarm, or distress to individuals or the community. This can include noise nuisance, vandalism, threatening behaviour, and improper use of public spaces, with a focus on maintaining peaceful, safe communities.

Example: A resident experiencing loud, disruptive noise from neighbours late at night on a regular basis may feel unsafe or distressed. The Housing ASB Policy ensures that complaints like these are investigated promptly, and appropriate action is taken to resolve the issue.

Consultation
Resident consultation will take place between Thursday 10 October 2024 and Monday 11 November 2024.
