The Council and a group of Landowners from the area have developed an updated Draft Lea Bridge Gateway SIL Stage 1 Masterplan and we would like feedback from businesses and landowners on the early plans.
What is Lea Bridge Gateway?
The industrial areas in Lea Bridge are a vital part of the local and London-wide economy and are designated in planning policy as Strategic Industrial Land (SIL) and Locally Significant Industrial Site (LSIS). The Lea Bridge Gateway includes four areas of Strategic Industrial Land centered around Lea Bridge Station and the crossroads of Lea Bridge Road and Orient Way.
What has happened so far?
The Draft Stage 1 Masterplan examines the whole of the Lea Bridge Gateway SIL and tests whether development in the area could be intensified to deliver new employment and industrial space, alongside accommodating other non-industrial uses. The Stage 1 Masterplan will set out where change could happen in the area. The final Stage 1 Masterplan will be published and form part of the evidence base informing the Waltham Forest Local Plan Part 2 Site Allocations.
