Have your say on a new lido for Waltham Forest and improvements to Low Hall Sports Ground!
What's happened so far?
After a careful assessment of sites across the borough, Low Hall Sports Ground has emerged as the Council’s preferred location for new and improved leisure and wellbeing spaces and activities, including a lido.
At the end of last year, Waltham Forest Cabinet approved the preferred location and a vision for the new lido. It was agreed that the next step should be to start to explore early ideas for a new lido at this location and how Low Hall Sports Ground, and the surrounding area might be improved.
We held our first stage of public engagement in spring 2023 to help inform the initial ideas for a proposed new lido, as well as new and improved leisure activities and spaces at Low Hall Sports Ground.
We received an unprecedented response to our online survey and hundreds of you attended the face-to-face sessions!
What are the next steps?
We’re busy reviewing your feedback from the first stage of the public engagement which is informing early ideas and a business case to be presented to Waltham Forest Cabinet as an update on the work done to date and to seek funding for the next stages of the project.
The report we are preparing will now go before Cabinet in autumn 2023, rather than spring 2023, to ensure the considerable number of responses we received can feed into the project.
We’ll be back in touch to provide an update ahead of Cabinet, including sharing more information on the feedback received as part of the first stage of engagement.
We want to create opportunities for the whole community to get involved and there will be two more future stages of engagement should the project progress following the Cabinet decision.

The deadline for providing feedback as a part of the first stage of public engagement was 11pm on Tuesday 11 April 2023.
