Junction works to begin soon
We’re pleased to let you know that work along the south side of Forest Road, between Wood Street and Hale End Road, has now been completed and we're preparing to start work at the junction of Forest Road, Wood Street and Fulbourne Road.
The junction works will include:
- Removal of traffic islands
- Decommissioning of existing traffic signals
- Installation of temporary traffic management signals
The junction will remain open to two-way traffic, but bus routes 212, W16, 123, 275, 675 and SL2 may experience some delays. Please plan ahead and allow extra time for your journeys.
January 2026 to Summer 2026
From January 2026, further works will take place at the junction, including lane reductions. Bus stops on Wood Street and Fulbourne Road (Forest Road / Wood Street Library) will be temporarily relocated nearby to maintain accessibility.
We’re working closely with Transport for London to monitor and coordinate traffic flow throughout the works.
We will notify residents and businesses in advance of any particularly disruptive works taking place directly outside their properties. Where necessary, temporary parking or loading dispensations will be arranged for affected properties.
Thank you for your continued patience and support as we work to make Forest Road safer, more accessible, and more efficient for everyone.
