Works progress, expect delays
Traffic delays are expected as work begins on the northwestern arm of the junction at Forest Road, Wood Street and Fulbourne Road.
During these works, the footpath will be temporarily narrowed. However, all shops will remain open and accessible as usual. Some parking on Fulbourne Road will also be suspended.
Due to lane reductions on Forest and Fulbourne roads during these works, journey times are likely to be impacted.
We apologise for the inconvenience this will cause and will do our best to minimise disruption while these works are being carried out.
Thank you for your continued patience and support as we work to make Forest Road safer, more accessible, and more efficient for everyone.
Separately, there’s also some other ongoing works in the area we would like to inform you of.
Other works in the area
Northeastern arm of junction
The northeastern arm of the junction between Forest Road and Wood Street will have a temporary footpath in place until Virgin Media are able to relocate their infrastructure later this year.
Clifford Road one-way
Developers Manak Homes have temporarily made Clifford Road one-way to allow for construction works at the former petrol station located at 817-823 Forest Road.
While this is not part of the Forest Road corridor scheme works, it may have an impact on traffic in the area.
The one-way system means:
- There’s no entry to Clifford Road from Fulbourne Road. This restriction is in place 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and is expected to remain for 18 months.
- Access to Clifford Road will be via Forest Road only, with vehicles entering from the Forest Road junction.
- Traffic will travel in one direction only, from Forest Road towards the far end of Clifford Road.
