Overview
This consultation is for Waltham Forest residents, particularly council tenants, leaseholders and shared owners living on council-owned or managed housing estates.

We are seeking your views on the proposed Housing Estates Management Policy, which explains how communal areas and shared spaces are managed, the standards residents can expect, and the responsibilities of both residents and the council. It also sets out how the council responds to estate management issues and works with residents to help keep estates safe, clean and well maintained.

What does the policy cover?
The Housing Estates Management Policy includes:

  • Management and maintenance of communal areas and shared spaces.

  • Estate management standards and service expectations.

  • Responsibilities of residents and the council.

  • Estate inspections and safety.

  • Fly tipping, waste and grounds maintenance.

  • Parking and abandoned vehicles.

  • Pets, resident CCTV / ring doorbells, e-bikes and e-scooters.

  • Support for residents who may be vulnerable or need additional assistance.

  • How residents can raise concerns and provide feedback on estate management services.
