Public art at Markhouse Corner

As part of feedback on the Lea Bridge Area Framework you also told us you were interested in opportunities for public art at Markhouse Corner.

This summer we asked you to tell us what you think public art at Markhouse Corner should look like. We invited residents and businesses to share objects, memories and stories that represent the local area to help create a brief for an artist. This included holding a virtual reality event which proved very popular even through the rain!

We worked with Community Interest Company Beyond the Box and their young cultural producers to help with this work as a part of the People's Pavilion Festival at Lea Bridge Library.

The next step is to use your ideas and stories to help create the brief. Once this happens there will be future opportunities to get involved.

Learn more and take a look some of objects and drawings residents, businesses and community groups shared with us on this page.

If you have any questions about this project you can also contact us by emailing leabridgearea@walthamforest.gov.uk
