Waltham Forest Council are exploring opportunities to improve Sidmouth Park and Coronation Gardens in Leyton. We’d like to improve access, safety and biodiversity in both parks including how we could make the routes between them more child friendly.
The project will be funded by contributions from nearby development as part of the Council's plan to protect Epping Forest and improve access to local parks and greenspaces. To find out more about how new development helps the Council improve existing parks and greenspaces, have a look at the Council's plan to protecting Epping Forest and the SANGS Strategy.

Over the next months we plan to have conversations with local stakeholders and communities to help shape the proposals:
Our next public engagement event will take place during Leyton Mas on Sunday 13 July 2025. Visit us to help inform the early design ideas and give us your feedback. You will find our pop-up stand in Coronation Gardens between 1pm and 5pm, in the family area near the Leyton High Road entrances of the park.

We also want to hear about any projects or activities people are involved with locally and explore opportunities for support and collaboration. We are particularly keen on hearing from local youth groups, sports clubs and garden enthusiasts who are interested in volunteering opportunities or organising activities in the park.
