Join this workshop hosted by The Reapers Community Garden, OrganicLea and the Waltham Forest Food Growers Network to learn more!

The workshop is open to anyone with an interest in food growing and biodiversity, no prior experience needed. 

The workshop will include learning to conduct a biodiversity survey, an introduction to pollinator-friendly planting, and planting for climate resilience.

The TCV Biodiversity Action Team of volunteers will be creating a wildflower bed next to the footpath near Wadham Avenue.

This event is open to anyone with an interest in habitat management and their local biodiversity. No prior experience is needed. 

This is a social activity with time made for lunch and breaks whenever needed.

There will be a range of tasks from light work such as litter picking to physical work such as digging. The event leader will make the activities as adaptable as possible based on the needs of the group and attendees can join in the activities they want to/ feel able to participate in.

Join this workshop hosted by The Reapers Community Garden, OrganicLea and the Waltham Forest Food Growers Network to learn more!

The workshop is open to anyone with an interest in food growing and biodiversity, no prior experience needed. 

The workshop will include reflecting on crop selection, who a garden is for, what food we want to eat, and what foods can be grown on the land around the River Ching.

Together we will discuss base and feeder crops, experimental crops, and how what we grow can represent our community.

Activity description

This is part of London Borough of Waltham Forest Wildways Project. We'll be sawing and removing felled trees to make habitat piles and edging for the new pathway through the woodland.

We're going to be carrying out some habitat management for the benefit of hedgehogs. The tasks will be cutting holes in chain-link fencing to allow free movement, making logs piles, removing litter and installing water access.

London Rivers Week (LRW) is a week-long annual campaign inspiring the public to celebrate all of London’s rivers and the many projects taking place to protect them.
